HipHop on the moon is
an adventure in audio halucinations with psychacoustical embodyment in an
awe inspiring mix tape format.
HipHop in outer space.....Instrumental mostly with well placed lyrics and
scratching/cuts from the 7th dimension.
There are a total of three HipHop on the moon albums, as of now only one is
available in retail.
On this website we have the original unreleased songs available for the first
time.....Well, I do recall when alot of my hometown bootlegged the unreleased
stuff, but that was years ago, and I doubt too many of those c.d.s and tape
cassetes still work.
Where to start, This whole
project was never meant to happen. How did it happen, By Chance.
I had moved out of the 4001 in oakland in 1998, I had put all my stuff at
my moms house, and I was unnoficially living with my girlfriend(now x-girl).
A month had gone by, and I hadn't been able to make music or listen to my
vinyl. I thought I was being slick, and I snuck into my moms house, and in
the storage room, I set up a record player and my sampler and eight track.
I was only able to have access to two boxes of my records, and all my equipment
was ontop of the record boxes which took up 85 percent of the floor in this
converted laundry room. Well I set it up, and after I had made about 12 beats
in 7 hours, my friend Poizen called, and I played a beat or two over the phone.
He headed over pretty quickly, and he started scratching over the beats that
I had layed down. Pretty soon he had scratched on the three or four beats
already layed, so I layed down some more beats, and He scratched on those
too. Oh yeah, at some point, And I don't remember when, we started hallucinating
??????I Wonder Why??????Well needless to say, we stopped being too effective
shortly after that, and we started listening to a doctor octagon record, one
of the rarer ones with "half shark half alligator half man" remixes,
well this shit bugged us out, and we started laughing hella loud. That's when
my mom woke up and caught us making music in her house, which I was not allowed
to do. We couldn't take her yelling at me, so we ran out the room and out
the house, laughing the whole way. We walked around for a while and then after
hours of crazy shit, we went back to my moms house and mixed it down to cassette,
and somehow found the party we had heard about earlier at My friend Jaque's
house in Oakland. At That point Poizen Bounced on Foot to who knows where
and never came back that night.
His story of all that is crazy......Any way, I listened to it the next day,
and thought it was tight, so we got the equipment and set it up somewhere
else, and cleaned up the roughedges......Every full blue moon we meet at the
new Launch pad and blast off on a music making journey through outer space.......Wanna
